This chapter introduces the novel concept of “functional style” defined as distinctive linguistic idiosyncrasies shown by translators when creating functional aspects in target texts. It categorizes functional features by scope (global/local) and type (literary/textual functions). The chapter classifies functional styles into three forms: thematic style, recharacterization style, and textual-panoramic style. It establishes methodological foundations using Corpus Stylistic Circle and stylometric attribution, proposing an analytical framework through corpus triangulation. The chapter outlines analytical models including Extended Units of Meaning, Local Textual Functions, Principal Component Analysis, and Multidimensional Analysis, providing systematic steps for functional style analysis.
