This curiosity in the well-being and health sector forces the sales of market foods as functional and health foods. The active components of food products, which affect human health are bioactive compounds. These mentioned products are mainly classified as foodstuffs, but consumers are increasingly drawn to items at the connections of nutrition and pharmaceuticals. A wide range of dietary compounds is found to interact with protein biomolecules involved in drug pharmacokinetics and affecting the process from oral bioavailability and intestinal transport to metabolism, blood circulation, and systemic distribution. Some clinically important food–drug interactions result from food-induced alterations in drug bioavailability. Clinically important food–drug relations that cause likely damages to the patient, may be due to alterations in pharmaceutical properties.
