Ayurvedic Biology for Holistic Healing
摘要
Ayurvedic biology is an ancient system of medicine rooted in the Indian subcontinent that offers a holistic and integrative approach to health and well-being. Ayurveda’s foundational principles revolve around three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, each representing a combination of the five basic elements and governing various physiological and psychological functions. By understanding the unique constitution (Prakriti) of individuals, Ayurveda emphasizes personalized healthcare, focusing on preventing disease by maintaining balance within these doshas. Ayurveda offers a comprehensive framework for achieving optimal health through personalized diagnostics and treatments, including diet, herbal remedies, and lifestyle adjustments. This chapter explores foundational concepts of ayurvedic biology, highlighting its relevance and application in modern holistic healing practices, and discusses the scientific validation of ayurvedic principles, highlighting the convergence of traditional wisdom with modern biomedical research. Future directions emphasize collaborative research, interdisciplinary education, and sustainable practices. The holistic and integrative nature of ayurveda makes it a valuable addition to modern healthcare, offering insights into personalized and preventive medicine.
