The transition toward a low-carbon, sustainable future is driving profound changes in the global energy and transportation sectors. This chapter explores the dynamic intersection of these two domains, focusing on the accelerating shift from fossil fuel dependency to integrated systems powered by renewable energy and electrified mobility. It begins by tracing the evolution of energy systems from traditional coal and oil to decentralized, smart grids supported by energy storage and digital infrastructure. The narrative then focuses on electric vehicles (EVs), highlighting their rapid global utilization, technological advancements in battery systems, and critical role in reshaping the mobility landscape. Furthermore, this chapter examines the growing integration of EVs into the energy grid through innovations such as vehicle-to-grid (V2G) systems and smart charging infrastructure, offering new models of energy resilience and flexibility.
