TCM is a gem of Chinese civilization, with its philosophy of “preventative treatment of disease” being integrated into the Healthy China Initiative. Currently, a preliminary TCM service system that encompasses both urban and rural areas, combining preventive care, disease treatment, and rehabilitation, has been established in China. The level and efficiency of TCM services are continually enhancing. Since the twenty-first century, China has undergone two large-scale public health campaigns against epidemics, creating a miracle in human history as a populous nation successfully emerging from major disease outbreaks. The combination of TCM and Western medicine, as well as the use of both TCM and Western medicine, has played a pivotal role in these campaigns, becoming distinctive features and highlights of China’s epidemic control and prevention efforts. TCM, with its millennia-old heritage, has withstood numerous practical tests, safeguarding the health of the Chinese people, demonstrating the contemporary value of the Chinese treasure, and offering solutions to the world in combating infectious diseases and ensuring the health of all peoples.
