China’s Public Health Management System and Public Health Service System

China has established a relatively comprehensive public health management system and public health service system. In terms of public health management, health commissions at all levels, the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration, and centers for disease control and prevention at all levels are responsible for formulating and implementing public health development plans and policies. In terms of public health services, the content of services is continuously enriched and improved, the public health service network is continuously strengthened, and institutions ranging from centers for disease control and prevention at all levels to community health service centers (stations), township health centers, and village clinics are responsible for providing public health services such as infectious disease control and prevention, chronic disease prevention and treatment, health education, food safety surveillance and supervision, occupational health surveillance, handling of public health emergencies, and maternal and child health care for urban and rural residents.
