Intelligent materials, as the fourth generation of materials following natural materials, synthetic polymer materials, and artificially designed materials, possess intelligent characteristics. And they are one of the important directions in the development of modern high-tech new materials, thereby supporting the development of future high technologies, gradually blurring the boundary between traditional functional materials and structural materials, and realizing structural functionalization and functional diversification. Moreover, some scientists predict that the development and large-scale application of intelligent materials will lead to a major revolution in the development of material science. Biobased biodegradable materials have a significant impact on the composition of the future world of new environmental protection materials. Additionally, the combination of these two types of materials, each with its unique skills, will be favored by future scientific researchers. This chapter summarizes the current research progress of biobased intelligent materials.
