Cultural Elements from Shang to Han Dynasties
摘要
While the Qijia Culture and the Siba Culture thrived in the northwestern region of the Hexi Corridor in the late Neolithic period, the bronze culture emerged in the upper reaches of the Liao River in northeastern China. The appearance of painted pottery indicates that the Lower Xiajiadian Culture was transitioning into the early bronze age, hinting at its potential role as the origin of the subsequent Shang and Zhou Cultures. Su Bingqi describes the migration of primitive tribes from the northeast to the south, where they encountered tribes from the Wei River-Yellow River basin near Shanxi. This interaction led to the blending of the Yangshao Culture and the Hongshan Culture, aligning with the relationship between the Lower Xiajiadian Culture and the Shang Culture.
