Empowering Change: How Women Digital Entrepreneurs Drive Sustainability in the Digital Era
摘要
Digital entrepreneurship is defined by the integration of innovative business models with the transformative potential of digital technologies, creating new opportunities for growth and sustainability. As consumers become more digitally sophisticated, the cost of acquiring new customers decreases, while digital ventures become more agile and scalable. It is evident that this form of entrepreneurship flourishes within dynamic digital ecosystems, thereby supporting sustainable practices from economic, environmental and social perspectives. A significant benefit of digital entrepreneurship is its borderless nature. Entrepreneurs have the opportunity to expand their operations on a global scale while addressing critical socio-environmental challenges. It is important to note that the integration of digital tools with circular economy principles has been demonstrated to reinforce sustainable consumption and production, which are central to the UN’s SDGs. It is evident that women have become prominent figures in this evolving field. Their entrepreneurial activities are frequently characterized by innovation, adaptability, and a pronounced sense of environmental and social responsibility. In comparison with their male counterparts, female entrepreneurs have been shown to demonstrate a heightened awareness of sustainability issues. This chapter explores the distinctive contributions of women in the realm of digital entrepreneurship. The study explores how their proactive mindset, innovative approach, and environmental sensitivity support the development of sustainable business models. The present study explores the ways in which female digital entrepreneurs are contributing to the transformation of the business landscape through the alignment of their ventures with social and ecological objectives.
