Background of the Research
摘要
Before moving from Faculty of Agriculture to Ocean Research Institute, I studied silkworm brain hormones and could identify an insulin-like peptide named bombyxin from invertebrates for the first time. In addition, I tried to identify some other insect hormones, pheromones, and other insect hormone-like active substances. After moving to Ocean Research Institute, I continued hormone research but changed the target to crustaceans, and identified androgenic gland hormone and sinus gland peptides including crustacean hyperglycemic hormone-family peptides and pigment-controlling peptides.
