The Latest Development of Carp Farming in Indonesia
摘要
Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) culture in Indonesia is one of the oldest freshwater fish farming activities. Carp cultivation began in the mid-nineteenth century, since the introduction of this fish from Europe and China. The ease of rearing methods makes this commodity quickly popular and spread to almost all parts of Indonesia. Areas known as common carp farming centers include North Sumatra, West Sumatra, West Java, North Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, and West Nusa Tenggara. Common carp farming technology has also developed from the traditional system in the yard to super-intensive technology in running-water ponds and floating nets.
