The contribution of the fisheries sector to gross domestic product (GDP) in 2023 is targeted to be between 4% and 6% or the equivalent of IDR 259.78 trillion. The role of aquaculture in achieving the national fishery production target is increasing every year. In 2018, aquaculture production reached 17.2 million tons, accounting for 60% of the total national production and increased to 21.8 million tons, or 66%, in 2020. The total value of aquaculture production in 2020 reached IDR 400 billion (Pusdatin, 2022). Aquaculture is also expected to be a source of healthy protein for the community, contributing to the success of the stunting reduction program. The national stunting rate is currently 24.4%, or approximately 5.33 million children under five, which is expected to decrease to around 14% in 2024 ( www.setneg.go.id ).
