Efficient parking management is a critical challenge for transportation systems in a smart city. This paper presents a practical approach to parking optimization that combines slot availability with distance metrics to guide drivers to the most suitable parking spots. We propose a parking system that uses Dijkstra’s Algorithm to compute the shortest path to available parking slots and prioritize parking spaces closest to the entry gate of the parking facility. The system was tested on a parking simulation, demonstrating a 20% improvement in parking efficiency and a 25% reduction in search time compared to traditional methods. This approach has potential applications in intelligent transportation system and can significantly enhance the urban driving experience.

摘要
