Anigo (1244–1306) was a sculptor, architect, and craftsman during the Yuan Dynasty. He was known for his skill in sculpting and bronze casting of Buddha statues. He was from the country of Nepal. According to History of Yuan (Volume 203), “Anigo was from Nepal, and his people called him Barubu. He was intelligent and learned from a young age, studying Buddhist texts until he could understand their meaning. Among his classmates were those who specialized in painting and sculpture, and after reading The Canon of Measurements, Anigo could remember it all. He was particularly talented in sculpting and casting golden statues.”
