Interaction of Yuan Dynasty Lacquerware and Overseas Societies and Cultures
摘要
Compared to previous dynasties, Yuan lacquerware had three distinct aesthetic characteristics: tribal identity, emphasis on technical innovation, and representation of botanical symbolism. The tribal identity was determined by the dominant consumer group in the Yuan Dynasty, while the emphasis on technical innovation was driven by their desire for luxury. The use of Symbolism of plant motifs in lacquerware design was determined by the aesthetic preferences of the consumers.
