Foreign Trade of Lacquerware Under “Shibo Tijusi” Administration in the Yuan Dynasty

During the Yuan Dynasty, market bureaus were established in Qingyuan (now Ningbo), Ganpu (now Haiyan), Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Shanghai, and other places in Zhejiang Province. These bureaus were responsible for facilitating trade of various goods with foreign countries. They managed overseas trade and formulated relevant “inter-market laws” and taxation methods.
