‘Culture’ reflects the collective consciousness of the generation. Cultural art forms have the clairvoyant quality that helps in realizing the inevitable truths and possible future events through kaleidoscopic depiction of the Nature/Human-centric world. The paper attempts to posit the trilemma between the concepts of Chhau dance, contemporary dance, and the environmental vulnerabilities depicted through the two dance forms of the Orient and the Occident. This article will try to depict Bengal’s traditional cultural heritage dance form Chhau and the assimilation of it with the occidental genre of Contemporary dance with the employment of modern choreomusicology to interpret the consequent vengeful outburst of the environment to the regular human exploitative interventions. The paper reads the dance drama choreographed by the Sapphire Creations in 2016 ‘EKONAMA’ applying Choreology theory, theories of Ecocriticism and Rewilding that will help in the depiction of how a cultural heritage like Chhau dance and the environmental concerns are battling to survive in the fast-changing cultural consciousness of the gen Alpha population or the ‘Network society’ of the netizens. The dance drama depicts the pivotal role of the dance forms as a symbol of Cultural Revolution to create a sense of environmental preservation, sustainability for the roved en route to climate change awareness campaign.
