This chapter discusses the socio-economic and environmental determinants of health affected by climate change, including biodiversity, deforestation, and natural disasters. It discusses India’s national-level policies on climate change and health, including the Government of India’s initiatives towards environmentally sustainable healthcare and climate-smart health systems. It also highlights state action plans on climate change and the inclusion of health as a component. It emphasizes the need for a comprehensive plan to combat climate change’s effects on health, focusing on mitigation, adaptation, and the resilience of vulnerable populations.
