The impact of the city on the migrants have always attracted the attention of urban sociologists and social demographers. However, migration of tribes, the most disadvantaged indigenous communities of India, to urban centres/metropolis has been an under-worked area. Those who have studied migrant tribes have limitations. What is missing in the studies is an intensive documentation of the complex social lifeworld of the tribal communities living as illegible margins of the cities. The layered interface between issues of migration, urbanisation and exclusion that construct everyday lived realities of the urban tribal margins is what the studies fail to explore. Therefore, the present study is an attempt to capture the contemporary discourses and address the significant questions that has not been taken into account while studying urban tribal communities.
