This study integrates LDA thematic and sentiment analyses to examine Chinese online public opinion on school bullying via 6,388 Sina Weibo comments from three high-impact incidents. Results reveal: (1) demands for robust legal frameworks for minors, (2) moral outrage over trauma severity, and (3) societal insistence on stringent punitive measures. Dominant negative emotions (44% of comments) were found, with anger (p < 0.05) driven by dissatisfaction with legal gaps and empathy for victims, while anxiety and sadness correlate with legal efficacy and victim narratives. Findings demonstrate social media’s value in capturing nuanced public discourse, advocating legislative reforms, victim support, and proactive policy interventions.
