Basic Principles and Implementation Methods of High Voltage Direct Current Circuit Breakers
摘要
This chapter examines the principles and implementation of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) circuit breakers. The discussion covers DC grid construction approaches, fundamental current-breaking principles, and methods of current interruption—including MOV insertion and hybrid DC circuit breakers. It also explores current breaking through series-inserted capacitors, both in single-branch and multi-branch structures. The chapter concludes with an analysis of assembly multi-port HVDC circuit breaker design and operation, along with an economic comparison of typical HVDC circuit breakers.
