Pharma supply chains are complex and ever evolving. With its intricate nature, there are several complicated networks and practices which are not visible to the regular person. Traceability and transparency are the most important characteristics of a pharma supply chain in which the end user is able to verify and understand the whole supply chain. Recent studies and data show that the problems in pharma supply chains are increasing in India. To address this concern, blockchain technology may be used which helps in realizing a transparent supply chain as well as data which is available to stakeholders at all levels to verify. This article focuses on creating a framework for implementation of a blockchain-based pharma supply chain which can help prevent counterfeiting, inflated prices and provide a transparent supply chain.
