Fuzzy MICMAC Approach for the Analysis of Key Performance Indicators in Public Transport Industry in India
摘要
Due to inefficiencies, public road transport organizations are experiencing financial difficulties all around the world. Many of these organizations are close to dissolving or going out of business, and many more rely significantly on government grants and subsidies. The rapid transition to personalized modes of transportation is a serious challenge to the long-term viability of environmentally and economically sustainable public transportation (PT) networks. Researchers have found that the lack of information resulting from the use of inappropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) or the absence of critical KPIs causes inefficiencies in public transit. Using a comprehensive literature review and recommendations from PT industry professionals in India, 15 key KPIs were chosen for this study. After that, contextual relationships between these KPIs were determined by SSIM and Fuzzy MICMAC analysis. The results highlight that travel speed, accessibility, energy efficiency, on-time performance, affordability, and efficient resource allocation are the influential KPIs and need priority attention for improving the performance of PT.
