This chapter presents the narratives of five teachers in PNG who implemented authentic learning through integrated STEM projects. Despite facing significant challenges, such as limited resources, overcrowded classrooms, and unreliable infrastructure, these teachers designed innovative, community-driven learning experiences. Their projects addressed pressing local issues, including poverty, health, and waste management, allowing students to apply their knowledge in meaningful, real-world contexts. The narratives highlight how creativity, resilience, and local resourcefulness can overcome systemic barriers, empowering students with practical skills and a strong sense of agency. By aligning education with students’ lived realities, these teachers demonstrate that authentic, transformative learning is not only achievable but essential in under-resourced settings, offering valuable insights for global education in similar contexts.
