To optimize volunteer scheduling and the management of sporting events, there are challenges that could be addressed by proposing a web-based solution. However, this kind of solution requires recognition of the critical role that the volunteers play in the success of these events. This project proposed a web-based volunteer scheduling system that is designed to streamline the allocation process of the volunteers by considering volunteers’ preferences, skills, and experience. The core innovation of this project is the implementation of a Preference-based Matching approach that aligns volunteer roles with individual preferences and qualifications. To enhance overall satisfaction of the volunteers and operational efficiency, the system not only simplifies the scheduling process for event organizers, but it also ensures fair job distribution and maximizes volunteer engagement. To assess the system's effectiveness, key performance metrics such as match rate and average preference satisfaction were evaluated. This project aims to deliver a practical tool for sports event organizers, to optimize volunteer management while enhancing volunteer satisfaction and reducing setup time.
