Periodization is the process of designing and dividing training over a specific period to achieve peak performance for an individual. There are three distinct phases based on the targeted objectives: the preparation phase, the competition phase, and the transition phase. It is crucial for coaches to ensure that the training plan is suitable for reaching the athlete’s peak performance level. However, developing periodization is challenging due to several issues, such as the vast amount of training information and the difficulty in accurately evaluating or viewing data. To address these challenges, a study was conducted to identify the need for software to assist coaches in creating periodization. This study employed a quantitative approach. Data was collected through a questionnaire on software needs for periodization, which was distributed to 30 respondents, all of whom are coaches from the state of Johor. The data obtained from the questionnaire was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings from the questionnaire revealed an average value of 4.68, indicating that specialized software is highly needed to support coaches in developing periodization. In conclusion, coaches require software that can help them achieve peak athlete performance.
