Basics of Electricity

The current, voltage and power are mainly important for any circuit analysis. However, the circuit current mainly depends on the charge flow through a conductor in a circuit. Any electrical circuit consists of the resistance, inductor, capacitor, voltage source and current source. Therefore, any learner needs to understand the basics of electricity to deal with a simple and complex electrical circuit. This chapter presents these necessary concepts and components as a first step-stone in understanding any underlying electrical principles. In addition, it introduces the core measuring equipment in the electrical domain along with the charge, current, voltage, power, energy, resistance, semiconductor, insulator and simulation software.
