Due to rapid urbanization, groundwater recharge is a critical component of hydrological system, and this study is about the investigation of groundwater recharge using Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques, using a case study approach. A study area is selected and various factors, namely, lithology, lineament density, rainfall, slope, discharge, and land use/land cover, influencing the groundwater recharge are analyzed to visualize the spatial patterns of groundwater recharge. By leveraging GIS methodologies, this research endeavors to visualize and comprehend the spatial patterns underlying groundwater recharge processes. The findings of this study significantly contribute to the advancement of knowledge regarding groundwater recharge dynamics within the Gautam Buddha Nagar region, as the demand for groundwater is exponentially increasing, its management is becoming a bigger problem for the entire community. This newfound understanding holds profound implications for water resource management strategies in the area. The study contributes to the knowledge advancement of groundwater recharge dynamics in Gautam Buddha Nagar, which helps in finding the implications for water resource management. Further research could focus on refining the techniques used and incorporating the factors in addition to the factors already used to enhance the accuracy and reliability of groundwater recharge estimations.

摘要
