China has undergone a tremendous transformation and development in infrastructure, land and property sector in the past two decades (2000–2020). The role the Chinese local government plays in land development is irreplaceable and central to China’s economic development. However, the model of land development prevalent in China is substantially different from the typical Western counterparts. So is the role of Chinese Government in this model.
