This book followed a systematic research methodological process to achieve its objectives: developing an artificial intelligence (AI) decision-support model, demonstrating the programmability of decisions, and enhancing understanding of the required AI culture to empower decision-making. This chapter reveals how Wilson’s honeycomb was applied to ensure a logical and systematic process for reaching these objectives. In the first component, the philosophical choice includes pragmatism as epistemology and subjectivism as ontology, embraced by a value-bound axiological approach. The second component is the research approach, which found inductive reasoning to be more appropriate than deductive reasoning. The third is the research strategy, which found qualitative research more relevant than quantitative research. The research design is the fourth component, where the choice of employing action design research (ADR) is justified to guide the empirical research. This section also introduces elaborated ADR (eADR), an extension of ADR. The fifth and sixth components are data collection and data analysis techniques. Regarding the former, group discussions and interviews were used to collect data, while thematic analysis was employed for the latter.
