Real-Time Power Factor Monitoring and Analysis in Smart Home Using MODBUS Communication and Cloud Platform
摘要
Nowadays, the growing demand for power consumption, coupled with the gradual removal of energy regulations across the globe, has led to an exponential increase in the need for smart meters within power grids. Smart meters are primarily used to monitor power consumption, enabling real-time measurement of electrical parameters and ensuring system security. Despite their effectiveness and widespread adoption, they have certain technical drawbacks, particularly related to cost efficiency. The communication modules and controllers commonly used in smart grids are often expensive and can present challenges due to their complexity in connectivity and data acquisition. In this context, designing a smart meter using cost-efficient controllers such as the Raspberry Pi, along with simple communication protocols like Serial communication, the MODBUS protocol, and API-based connectivity, offers a practical and economical alternative.
