To date, the influence of technology on teaching and learning experiences is one of the prominent areas around shaping higher education in the twenty-first century globally. The digital sphere has influenced the didactics of teaching and learning and the dynamics that suggest students actively and socially construct their meaning and knowledge in higher education. In present times, academics need to factor digital technology into teaching and learning practices. However, this is an unexplored area from an empirical perspective which this study will address. The purpose of this study is to establish ways in which technology can be integrated into educational practices to enhance the teaching and learning experiences of students by theorising the digital pedagogy into teaching didactics. An interpretivist philosophy and inductive methodological approach will be adopted to collect data on the use of technology from an academic perspective to enhance the teaching and learning experiences of students at a selected Higher Educational Institution. This study will make recommendations on ways to use technology to enhance the teaching and learning experiences of students. The study concludes that the educational system must be centred around a digital pedagogy that supports the incorporation of technology in innovative teaching methods.
