The objective of this study is to examine the value of corporate histories as organizational explicit knowledge and to demonstrate that corporate histories can be utilized as data that reveal representative characteristics of organizations through the application of data science methods. In this study, we selected a prominent Japanese food company, Company A, as our subject. As a preliminary investigation, we conducted an interview with a former executive director of Company A who was intimately acquainted with the periods in question. In the main survey, the publicly available corporate history of Company A was employed as learning data, and a data science-based analysis was conducted to extract distinctive vocabulary for the period in question. Based on these findings, we conducted an examination of the distinctive vocabulary extracted by the data science analysis in the main survey, with consideration given to the characteristic content of a specific period obtained from the preliminary survey interviews. As a result, the presence of words matching the characteristics obtained from the interview survey was confirmed.
