Prosthetic Reconstruction of TMJ Diseases
摘要
This chapter addresses Yang’s Modified Classification Category I, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) diseases. For severe TMJ diseases, prosthetic reconstruction or replacement is one of the most effective methods of restoring form and function to that joint. Since the 1950s, the TMJ prosthesis has gradually developed from a semi-articular prosthesis to a total TMJ prosthesis (referred to as total joint prosthesis) in the 1990s and has been more widely used in clinical practice. At present, there are two mature total joint prostheses abroad. The author’s team independently developed a personalized total joint prosthesis.
