Lifestyle factors could contribute to the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and liver diseases. Evidence from experimental and clinical studies has shown that exposure to various heavy metals and endocrine-disrupting chemicals increases the risk of these lifestyle diseases. Humans are exposed to these pollutants through various routes. Increased oxidative stress, inflammation, apoptosis, altered autophagy regulation, hormonal activity, and estrogen mimicking nature are thought to be the possible mechanisms of harmful effects associated with environmental pollutants such as plastic pollutants, particulate matter, and heavy metals. In Indian and Chinese traditional medicine, various natural products are mentioned in treating these lifestyle diseases. Researchers from all over the world showed tremendous efforts in exploring the scientific evidence behind the beneficial effects of various natural products. In this chapter, the beneficial effects of natural products and/or natural compounds such as curcumin, ginseng, Ginkgo biola, Ganoderma lucidum, Gynostemma pentaphyllum, flax seeds, silymarin, anthocyanins, and garlic chemical constituents against cardiovascular diseases and liver diseases have been discussed. More studies dealing with the molecular mechanism and drug delivery through nanoformulation should be undertaken for drug design and better clinical use. Clinical trails should be performed based on the preclinical evidence for therapeutic use of these natural compounds.
