This paper mainly introduces the process of poverty alleviation in Da'an Village, Baisha County, Hainan Province, through developing the leading industry of natural rubber and other special planting and breeding industries, and also expounds on how to play the leading role of cooperatives in poverty alleviation and the problems in the process of poverty alleviation: shortage of arable land may hinder the development of special industries; poverty alleviation may create new problem of “imbalance”; the problem of development and leading ability of cooperatives; the lack of endogenous motivation of some villagers for development.
