Shun'an Village is a key poor village in Du'an County, Guangxi. The per capita arable land area is small, and the young and strong labor force mostly goes out for work, so the resident population of the village is less than half of the total population. Although Shun'an Village is trying to carry out large-scale and cooperative farming, its industrial carrying capacity is limited due to the limitations of environment, soil productivity, transportation, and other objective factors. The relocation of villagers from the mountains to the outside world and from the village to the town has become an important way for Shun'an Village to achieve poverty alleviation. In the process of implementing the relocation policy, a small number of poor households in Shun'an Village are reluctant to relocate: some poor households have poor employability due to their old age or physical disability, and their lack of life skills in town concerns them that they will not be able to find a job after entering the town so that are unwilling to relocate; some poor households cannot adapt to town life in terms of lifestyle and values, and are also worried that the cost of living will rise after entering the town; some poor households are worried that there will be changes in policy, that their homestead will be taken back after relocation, that their living place will be distant from their farming land, and that their life in old age will not be guaranteed. In order to solve the above-mentioned worries of poor households, Guangxi Shun'an Village has developed some experiences and practices to be learned from the relocation of poor households.
