Management of Morphea
摘要
The primary aims of treatment of morphea are to halt the disease progression and prevention of new lesion development. The management is tailored according to individual person with respect to the severity, extent, and activity of the disease. While topical therapies are preferred for superficial and localized disease, rapidly progressive or deep lesions warrant use of systemic modalities. Systemic modalities encompass immunosuppression with systemic corticosteroids, methotrexate, or mycophenolate mofetil augmented with phototherapy. Surgical intervention becomes useful in the case of deformities induced by sclerotic or atrophic stage of the disease.
