This research explores the design and optimization of a grid-connected microgrid, integrating solar power, facilitated by HOMER software. The hybrid microgrid seamlessly intertwines with the main grid, efficiently catering to residential energy needs. By incorporating solar panels, sustainability is enhanced while reducing dependence on traditional energy sources. A meticulous analysis of the microgrid’s performance is conducted, covering detailed cost evaluations, including energy expenses and total net present costs. Optimization outcomes demonstrate the system’s efficiency and its adept management of grid interaction with sustainable energy sources. Beyond its contribution to microgrid development, this research offers valuable insights into the economic feasibility and optimization potential of grid-solar hybrid systems. It underscores the pivotal role of HOMER software in steering advancements in decentralized energy solutions. Emphasizing sustainability, efficiency, and economic viability, this study significantly contributes to the discourse on robust and eco-friendly residential energy solutions.
