Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex and highly heterogeneous neurodevelopmental condition. While ASD is currently diagnosed based on the presence and severity of core abnormalities in social communication and repetitive behaviors, many common medical conditions are now known to be significantly more prevalent in people with ASD compared to the general population, such as Premature mortality, which has increased dramatically in ASD. Yet, many symptoms of medical conditions, sometimes severe, are attributed without investigation to “behaviors,” mental health issues or just ASD itself. This paper provides an overview of ASD comorbidities and errors in measurements and assessment metrics. To build a complete vision of identifying ASD comorbidities, various modeling techniques have been discussed in this paper, along with their limitations.

摘要
