摘要

In this chapter, I will explore the relationship between philosophical interpretation of nature and value in the history of Western philosophy. By value, I refer to the ultimate value of truth, goodness, and beauty. In this chapter, I will focus on three types of interpretation of the relationship. First, it is the combination of nature and value. For this type, I will examine representative philosophers include Aristotle, Plotinus, Augustine, and Rousseau and their understanding of the relationship between nature and value. The second type is characterized by the separation of nature and value. I will explore Descartes, Spinoza, and Kant. For the third type, it is the attribution of value to nature. Nietzsche is the representative philosopher.
