In the march toward achieving the “Green Economy (GE),” both developed and developing countries are resorting to a number of strategies. The reason behind such strategies is the disturbing trend observed, mostly in developing countries, called the “industrial pollution and land degradation,” which directly threatens the achievement of “Green Economy,” and “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” This chapter elucidates the complex interactions between industrial activities and the quality of dryland and environment in order to analyze the pathways to green economy from the point of view of both technological and non-technological IPM strategies. Also, we study current empirical evidences of India’s march toward the green economy. The study suggests an integrated, localized, factorial, and institutional approach (especially for a developing country like India) called “Industrial Pollution Mitigation and Sustainable Land Management” as one of the approaches, in order to mitigate industrial pollution and its impacts on drylands. From these conceptual analyses, it has been proposed that India can improve the prospects of sustainable development in the years to come and achieve a green economy in a progressive manner by adopting such a comprehensive framework.

摘要
