Quality and patient safety are inseparable. Safety is the foundation of quality, and quality fails without reliable safety systems. This chapter introduces the global patient safety framework as a practical blueprint: build a safety culture, standardize high-risk processes, and engage stakeholders at every level. We focus on core goals - medication safety, infection prevention, surgical safety, and diagnostic accuracy and how to measure and learn from them. India’s National Patient Safety Implementation Framework (NPSIF, 2018–2025) is highlighted as a country-level model for aligning policy with frontline improvement. The aim is ultimately fewer adverse events, better outcomes, stronger public trust.
