The Use of Prototyping as an Experience for Teaching Ergonomics and Universal Design

In Architecture and Engineering courses, teaching Ergonomics and Universal Design (UD) requires a combination of theoretical and practical approaches, employing methodologies that incorporate the latest market technologies. Specifically in Anthropometry, leveraging digital fabrication and 3D printing helps students enhance their experimentation and problem-solving abilities. This study aims to describe the development of instructional materials through prototyping, providing better support and improving the understanding of these concepts. The prototype, optimized through testing and anthropometric percentiles, demonstrates user-environment interaction in the classroom, integrating everyday elements while utilizing digital manufacturing to enhance the teaching of Ergonomics and Universal Design through innovative methodologies.
