This systematic literature review was performed to synthesize findings from previous research on menu interaction in virtual environments. Specifically, previous research published between January 2013 and December 2023 was examined through different stages, which included identification, screening, and eligibility. A total of 32 articles were selected and reviewed, considering various tools such as (1) menu types, (2) tasks assigned, and (3) performance metrics. Consequently, the findings showed that radial menu types were the most popular used tools, particularly for selection tasks. Additionally, usability and task completion time were observed to be the frequently used performance indicators. Finally, the paper concluded with recommendations for future exploration.
