To explore interaction design methods for service robots intended for home-based elderly care, aiming to more accurately capture the needs of elderly users and to facilitate design centered around these needs, thereby enhancing the effi-ciency of robot interaction design and advancing the development of service ro-bots for elderly care. Methods: In response to existing issues with home-based elderly care ser-vice robots, this study is based on scenario-based design (SBD) and integrates a variety of research methods and tools throughout the process, exploring a re-search pathway for interaction design of service robots for home-based elderly care. Results: Drawing on the principles of SBD, this research has identified the key components of home-based elderly care scenarios and analyzed the research methods at each stage of service robot interaction design. This approach has led to a systematic and scientific research process, culminating in a cohesive pathway that integrates the aesthetics and interaction design of service robots. Conclusion: The application of SBD in the human-robot interaction (HRI) of service robots for elderly care aids in precisely understanding the needs of el-derly users, promoting user-needs-oriented design, and enhancing the practicality and human-robot interaction experience. Furthermore, it provides new insights for the development of intelligent products targeted at elderly users.
