In the digital age, the surge in data collection necessitates robust privacy policies to safeguard users’ rights. However, existing policies often lack clarity and user-centric design, hindering comprehension and trust. This study investigates the impact of varying privacy policy designs on comprehension and trust. A sample size of 102 participants engaged in an experimental setup evaluating different design factors. Results show the efficacy of blocking control and interactive prompts in enhancing comprehension, while dynamic consent fosters higher trust levels. Incentives did not significantly moderate comprehension outcomes. Findings underscore the importance of clear communication and user-centric design in privacy policies to promote trust and empower users in navigating digital platforms. This study contributes insights for crafting transparent and user-friendly data practices, crucial for fostering a privacy-conscious digital landscape.
