While somehow engaged with the feminist approach to history, this article does not attempt to explore the voices or identities of Indian women in Vietnamese history. Instead, this article aims to provoke an analytical look at the Vietnamese national history by examining how it writes about and archives Indian women. A gendered look at the representations and records of Indians in Vietnamese history reveals the absence of Indian women, suggesting a possibility of reconstructing the visibility of female figures and deconstructing the work of writing a history.
