Real or Virtual? The Effects of Appearance, Voice and VR for AIGC on Learning Performance and Interactive Experience
摘要
The rapid development of artificial intelligence has continuously impacted traditional education and gradually changed the traditional education model. In order to cope with the changes brought about by artificial intelligence, this study investigates the impact of AI-instructor’s appearance, voice and VR devices on users’ learning performance, overall experience and social presence in AI-generated educational videos. This study recruits 36 participants and conduct a 2 (appearance: real-human vs. virtual) × 2 (voice: real-human vs. virtual) × 2 (VR device: wear vs. not) experiment with the learning performance, social presence, and overall experience as dependent variables. The results indicate that the AI-instructor’s appearance and voice significantly influence learning performance and social presence, while the use of VR devices has a significant effect on overall experience. Instructor with real-human appearance and real-human voice has the best performance, while instructor with virtual appearance and virtual voice has poorer performance.
