Part IV turns to addressing language learning problems. First, this chapter highlights the barriers experienced by students which prevent them from enrolling in an elective language subject. The two key barriers that will be explored are language options and timetabling restraints. The chapter also considers students’ attitudes towards language learning, which were not factors affecting continuation or discontinuation, but were significant findings in this case study.
